Ahh, he was seeing him properly now. Seeing everything that was wrong and inhuman. Dried blood caked on his chin and lips which held teeth sharpened against his will, a mouth more like that of a carnivore than an omnivore, even more blood staining the hands that lay limp and bound, listless fingers with nails that resembled that of a wild beast. In his eyes, what was he now? A monster? A curiosity? A threat? Probably something that should be put down.
Someone so high up in the Saint’s Order would surely kill something like him.
“Mmph?!”
A thumb was thrust between his lips and started to carefully run over his teeth, falling into each dip and gap, feeling every point and edge, inspecting every crevice and groove. This was… uncomfortable. The intruder was reaching his molars, threatening to brush against his uvula and bring back the raw meat for a second viewing. Just as he was about to gag Mashita retracted his prodding thumb, a murky string of saliva tainted red by the leftover blood tying them before it snapped.
“With teeth like those you could have ripped my throat out back there or at least mauled my arm. Hell, you probably could have left me like that deer, why didn’t you?” “I would never consume human flesh!”
Shocking Mashita with the sudden rise in his vocal volume, Yashiki heard his declaration bounce off the high ceiling of the Chapel.
“Hm, that so? Well, back to the question at hand - why did I find you wolfing down raw flesh in the forest?”
